    Thank you very much for responding.

    The user guide (as provided with the trial version) has no information
    about Windows launch scripts that I could find. Nor did any of the
    readme.txt files and so forth. Thanks for the tip.

    Yes, in this degenerate age, a full-time Windows user can be THAT
    ignorant of command-line usage ("what's a launch file?") !

    I invoked the xep.bat launch file that you suggested for Windows.
    I invoked it using the -xml, -xsl, and -format -pdf options, as shown
    in the user guide pages 3-4. My sources were the XEP example files.
    Everything worked great. Nice job.

    I will be trying some of my own XML and XSL files next.
